December 2009 DOSCO MK4 Heavy Roadheader
NDCO has arranged the supply of a new MK4 DOSCO heavy roadheader for use on a major heavy civil job in the country of Georgia.

The project, a 9.5 kilometer, 5 meter diameter hydro water tunnel with two adits, is one of the largest tunnel projects to date in Georgia and is the longest tunnel project to be initiated since the country became independent from Russia in 1991.

The MK4 will be the main cutting machine on this project and will also be the first new roadheader delivered to the country in many years. The MK4, a Heavy Duty Roadheader in the 100 tonne range, is one of the most modern Roadheaders offered on the worldwide market and has seen successful continuous operation in rock conditions in the 120 Mpa (17,500 PSI) range.

January 2010. NDCO Provides Multiple Roadheader Machines To Sochi, Russia For 2014 Olympic Construction Projects

NDCO Construction Services has just sold a third roadheader to Sochi, Russia . The machine has just been delivered onsite where it will be used constructing tunnels for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The 135 ton Sandvik ATM105-IC heavy roadheader will be assembled and commissioned by one of NDCO’s technicians, who will also be providing training to the operators and mechanics at the project.

The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXII Olympic Winter Games, will be held from February 7 to February 23, 2014. The host city, Sochi, Russia, was elected on July 4, 2007, during the 119th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Guatemala City, Guatemala. This will be the first time that the Russian Federation will host the Winter Olympics; the Soviet Union hosted the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow.

NDCO has also recently provided a roadheader for use in a tunnel project in Vancouver, Canada, host city to the 2010 Winter Olympics.

June 2010. NDCO Sells Two Sandvik ABM10 Continuous Bolter Miners
NDCO Construction Services, a specialist supplier in underground mining and tunneling equipment, has just completed on a package sale of two light used, recent model Sandvik ABM10 Continuous Bolter Miners.

The machines had been purchased for development use by a coal mine in the USA and were found not to match the site requirements. NDCO sourced a buyer in an overseas market and the second unit has now been delivered and is being refurbished by Sandvik to meet local standards.

The ABM10 Continuous Miner (now called the Sandvik MB200) is a sophisticated track-mounted continuous miner designed to excavate roadways and install roof bolts simultaneously.
